Basically the feature is good to have but as explained in my comment its also unreliable to such a extend the possibilities for getting pulled over or worse cause a accident.
My suggestion now after testing it in practice is to hide the icon since some countries utilize excessive speedlimit adjustments on short notice, sorry.

First I apologise replying to a Merged issue and I greatlly respect the idea and the work that went into it.
I did follow this issue in the beginning and it looked great at that time. However in practice it conflicts with hard reality. Where I live up north the gov are adjusting speedsigns depending on the season, further replacing speedsigns with electronical ones and they will adjust these speedlimits over night, especially in the wintertimes. My issue with this is since Organicmaps has a monthly release cycle it will show the wrong speedlimit in many occations. I get this does not concern 96% of the globe but i find it problematic while navigating by car, since the speedlimit icon is so present I find myself eyeballing it and at the same time mentally challenge myself if I remember what the last speedlimit sign really showed. Its not a big issue if the map misses the mark as a navigation tool, however its not good showing important but outdated road info while driving and it confuses me bigtime.
If anyone is reading this let me know if a new issue is appropriate to at least feature request to ""hide the speedlimit icon""
