Not able to open maps.google.co.in links correctly on android #2311

Whenever i try to open such a link (I happen to do that often), it actually opens organic maps, but every information on the actual destination is lost in that process. So it just opens the app, but not an actual location on the map.

Are you sure it's the correct link? URLs do not contain spaces.

I corrected the link ;)
I had a bit of a hard time to extract the correct link, as It is not visible in the app I get the links from (I use it for work, it's a company application). And if I set my phone to open it with the browser, the link gets automatically redirected to a different Google Maps link inside the browser 😆

The expected result for links like that one: the app launches a search internally, finds the exact address and shows it on the map.
But what if the address is not found?
A more generic solution would be to show a search dialog with all found results.

But why is the address not found? How can it be that none of those links work with organic maps? I mean the addresses are all real, and are found with OsmAnd for example.

I do actually think that showing the search dialog would be better than not showing anything :)

OSM doesn't have all addresses yet.

I don't think that's the issue here. I do find those exact addresses when searching for them manually in Organic Maps

The proper API implementation should work also if the address is missing.

The same happens when you tap on an address that is assigned to a calendar entry. I just tried a few addresses and none of them showed up. If you copy the addresses and search for them manually in Organic Maps, every address is found correctly. It seems that the address is simply ignored.

@dreng Interesting, can you please send us some logs after trying to open an address from the calendar? Use "?" and Report a bug.
