Can we please have a way to add ESRI/Slippy map to the map?

Osmand has some advanced options to add an overlay map and for those wanting to see where forest service/BLM land is, there is a way to bring any slippy map with the howto I wrote:

Linux + offline? That sounds like a very corner case. There is only a desktop Linux version for internal development now. The code is open, so you or anyone else can contribute (but without breaking other use-cases and platforms).

Please note that our main focus is on OSM vector data. Adding custom image layers on top is not the priority now, it is not easy to implement, and it is not compatible with the offline use-case of Organic Maps. There are some other apps already supporting that.
