Delete branch "%!s()"
Deleting a branch is permanent. Although the deleted branch may continue to exist for a short time before it actually gets removed, it CANNOT be undone in most cases. Continue?
This is how I run into this: when I go on vacation, I bookmark hotels I stay at and other points of interest and put them in a list. If I visit the same hotel I did last time, that bookmarked hotel PoI can't be in the 'Vacation 2021' and 'Vacation 2022' list at the same time.
It might also be good to allow the same POI bookmark in multiple lists to have a different names and descriptions as well. For example, a mountain hut could have the description "Stopped here for 10 minutes to take in the view, then continued onward" in one list, while in another list it could say "Enjoyed a nice salad here and had a chat with the owner, then turned back because it was getting late."
Actually, my mistake. Apparently this is possible. In order to do this you:
I didn't know it was possible, since when editing a bookmark you can change the list it's in by picking one. So, whether intentional or not, most of this functionality is already here 😄 but the experience isn't too great. For example, if you have both lists it's in visible, it'll just pick one when selecting the bookmark pin.
You already discovered some issues with the same or different bookmarks at the same coordinates in different lists:
For displaying, I'm not sure. For selecting, I think the best thing would be to show a list with both (or more) bookmarks at that location, allowing you to pick one, similar to what OsmAnd does when two POIs are close together and you try to select one of them.
This way of selecting overlapping POIs was discussed in organicmaps/organicmaps#1109
To avoid confusion it seems logical allowing the same bookmark to be represented in different lists. Other solutions do not look UX-friendly.
Removing a bookmark from the map screen in that case will remove it from all lists.
A single description field is probably enough to note down how the same bookmark applies differently to both lists, so I think that's a good solution.
