I realise another user(s) had requested the “always route from my loc” feature.

However,
when I need to plan ahead for a future trip e.g. via my return transit trip,
then I need a different starting point.

(I do this regularly.)

hence,
Please have OG always give the optional ability for changing the “Route From”.

Even if the default is “My Location,” the user should be able to choose something different if they need.

Add a Setting:

“Route From My Current Location by default”:

  • always
  • fill it in by default, but ask me to confirm every time
  • don’t fill in my current loc by default

With the first choice, default setting, could reflect OG’s current behavior.

The second and third choices:
A way to to implement the 2nd or 3rd choice could be :

The “route from” field is Blank/Typeable by default.
However it has gray text that says “my current location” in it.

  • if the user leaves the field blank/as-is, and hits the Route button, then it does current loc.
  • if the user begins typing in that field, then the gray/semi-transparent background text (“current loc”) disappears as the user inputs other text (which appears as clearer/bolder colored opaque font).
