Currently, we have the following distribution channels for Android:

Google Play Open/Closed Beta - app.organicmaps
Google Play Production - app.organicmaps
Huawei AppGallery - app.organicmaps
F-Droid - app.organicmaps
GitHub - app.organicmaps.web
Telegram - app.organicmaps.beta
Firebase - app.organicmaps.beta

Google Play has "Closed Beta" and "Open Beta" (both called "Beta" for the user) to differentiate between the release candidates and production releases. GitHub / Obtainium recognizes "pre-release" checkbox, so the release candidates and validated prod releases can be differentiated. Firebase and Telegram are not considered as production release channels.

The initial purpose of app.organicmaps.beta was to allow installation alongside the production version from the App Store. Recently added app.organicmaps.web solves the same issue, allowing users to install APK app.organicmaps.beta from GitHub (manually or via Obtanium) and install it alongside app.organicmaps from Google Play / Huawei / Android.

The proposal here is to get rid of app.organicmaps.beta ID and use app.organicmaps.web instead. Telegram, Firebase and GitHub versions are already signed by the same key. This allows users to install the release-candidates and releases from any of three channels.

NOTE: This proposal doesn't cover "alpha" releases, i.e. crazy bleeding edges builds with experimental features that haven't even passed the code review. I will draft a separate proposal of adding "app.organicmaps.alpha" for such versions.
