OM doesn't display the comments that are added to osm data
Also it tells the user that a POI is open 24/7 when only a comment has been added (see example)

A variety of tags support comments. Usually they should be shown for more context
Opening hours being the prime example of this
They can be used to tell a customer that the kitchen of a restaurant has differing opening hours and so on

Another example:

Some places have opening hours but you're only allowed to enter if you have an appointment
This is usually defined in the comment but an OM user wouldn't get to see that

Example: Mo-Fr 08:00-13:00 "by appointment"

Same goes for the || rule separator that can be used on opening hours as well

Edit: Actually, it is possible to add comments. It was an issue with formatting. A correctly formatted entry:

Mo 11:00-19:00; Tu 10:00-19:00; We-Th 10:00-17:00; Fr 11:00-17:00; We-Fr 17:15-21:00 "efter registrering för Meröppet"; Sa 10:00-13:00; Sa 13:15-21:00 "efter registrering för Meröppet"; Jun-Aug Mo 13:00-18:00; Jun-Aug Tu-Fr 10:00-15:00; Jun-Aug We-Fr 15:15-21:00 "efter registrering för Meröppet"; Jun-Aug Sa-Su 10:00-21:00 "efter registrering för Meröppet"

It is also not possible to add comments when editing a place in Organic Maps using the advanced editor for opening hours.

For example, Limhamnsbiblioteket in Malmö would need the following entry to be accurate:
